It was my morning to make breakfast and since the only visitors in my section of the woods were squirrels and birds, I left my stand early and walked quietly back to the cabin through a steadily brightening autumn day. A few minutes later, our host got back and said that he'd walked back from his stand through the clearing. He said, "The spider webs are covered with dew. You should go take a look." I put on some boots and made my way out to the field. Having my camera along was a given. The delay in breakfast was inconsequential. Sometimes what you get is not what you were hunting.
